WHAT IS PASADA

Pilipino Society And Development Advocates (PASADA) Commuter-Consumer fights for human rights!

Pilipino Society and Development Advocates Commuter-Consumer Incorporated is a non-profit and non-governmental organization dedicated in the pursuit of the fundamental rights of the Filipino commuter and consumer in the Philippines. Established in 2013 as the loosely formed National Coalition of Filipino commuters and consumers, several members decided to register the group as Pilipino Society And Development Commuter-Consumer (PASADA CC) Incorporated last 16 December 2019 before the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

In 2020, Pasada CC Incorporated led efforts in pandemic response helping 100,000 distraught families in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

By January 2022, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) approved Pasada CC’s registration as a full pledged and legitimate partylist organization.

Pasada is now vying for a slot in the Partylist elections as no. 126 in the official ballot.

Long-time commuter and transport worker advocate, Secretary General Dom Hernandez led efforts in consolidating the transport worker sector.

Our Mission

Create a formidable collective consciousness among Filipino commuters and consumers of their inherent rights to live in a society where there is justice and peace and an environment that is commuter and consumer friendly.

Our Purpose

Pursue, defend, protect and represent the rights and welfare of Filipino consumers and commuters thru developmental community projects, research and presentation of policy positions before executive governmental regulatory agencies, instrumentalities of government and legislature, represent these sectors in public consultations undertaken by government agencies, pursue legislation in protecting the rights and welfare of these sectors, and launch and conduct awareness campaigns on commuter and consumer rights and heighten awareness of the commuter and consumer rights thru seminars, workshops, roadshows and summits.

Our History

In 2013, hundreds of Filipino commuters took to the streets and formed the National Coalition of Filipino Commuters and Consumers (NCFCC) with the aim of expressing their protest on the planned opening of the Southwest bus terminal in Paranaque. The demonstration was a huge success. This was followed by a signature campaign staged infront of the Baclaran church that went all the way to the Bicol region.

The Coalition then tackled various social issues like rice smuggling, the rise of prices of oil, electricity, water and basic products.

In 2019, members decided to form the Pilipino Society and Development Advocates (PASADA CC). On December 14, 2019, PASADA became a duly registered non-governmental organization before the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
