PASADA allies with Rider’s Group

A rider’s group composed mainly of 2,000 motorcycle enthusiasts from Manila and Caloocan had recently met with PASADA and expressed their desire to affiliate with the group in pursuit of its advocacies.

Pasada Managing Director Ricky Rivera along with PASADA Manager Herbert Valerio met with Eric Halili, head of the Halili Riders Group at Max Restaurant in Quezon City along with five other officials of the group. A Tondo resident, Halili got an information that PASADA began expanding its membership network in his community.

Halili believes that PASADA’s advocacy of helping poor Filipino commuters and consumers especially during this bleak economic recession brought by the COVID-19 pandemic is a shared cause with their group. Halili intends to help PASADA reach as many Tondo and Camanava (Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela) residents and convince them to become members of PASADA.

” We already heard of PASADA thru its monthly Busina Media Forum and we are willing to help the organization achieve its goal of organizing poor Filipino consumers and commuters to be a formidable force for change,” says Halili, who is close to former Manila mayor Alfredo Lim.

Luis Magsino, PASADA National campaigner said over a hundred people mostly relatives of public transport workers, signed for membership. Magsino says most of them who joined believed in the causes being pursued by the organization particularly its vision of creating a strong and vibrant PASADA Baksakan centers throughout Metro Manila.

PASADA intends to establish a Pasada Members Baksakan branch along Juan Luna street, a major thoroughfare in Tondo. PASADA Baksakan branches seek to provide Pasada members of lower than market price goods to help members tide themselves thru this economic recession brought by mismanagement of the COVID-19 by the Duterte administration.

School Bus Initiative

The focus of our last quarter has been working with local groups to improve bus networks. We believe that it is vital to provide transportation options for children living in rural areas. Thanks to our donors we were able to fund 50 buses and 200 cars that transport children to schools all around the globe.
